In an attempt to condense 15 years of professional experience into a 2 page document, some facts will inevitably be forced to make room for others. I intend for this short section to expand some of my relevant technical interests in which I've found success: Arduino and Raspberry Pi, Linux, RabbitMQ, Docker, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Hadoop, VOIP (Asterisk), OpenVPN, OpenSSL, PDF, Hardware Virtualization (Xen Project), Akka.NET, Wireshark, TopShelf, Apache Cassandra and memcached.

Why Extelligent?

Extelligence is a term coined by Ian Stewart and Jack Cohen in their 1997 book Figments of Reality and comprises of all the cultural capital that is available to humankind, transcending generations. It later reappeared as a central theme in Terry Pratchett's 2002 book The Science of the Discworld 2, which they co-authored and from which this quote was taken:

Culture allowed any individual ape to make use of the ideas and discoveries of thousands of other apes. It let the ape collective acquire knowledge cumulatively, so that it didn’t all get lost when its owner died. [...] Extelligence is like our own personal intelligence, but it lives outside us. Intelligence has limits; extelligence is infinitely expandable. Extelligence lets us pull ourselves upwards, as a group, by our own mental bootstraps.

Extelligent is named for this phenomenon; it represents the sum of expertise that is not constrained to only one mind, but is available for the benefit of all to share and improve.
